The Procedure of Project-creation
Student projects at DTU Environment are carried out in close collaboration with the supervisor, which are one of the faculty members of DTU Environment. In many cases student projects may also have a co-supervisor, which may be a researcher from the department, and – for experimental projects – a technician which can help out with more practical issues. In some cases projects can also be made in collaboration with and external partner (another university, a consulting company, public environmental organization or an industry)
The department have advanced lab and field equipment which also can be used by students in their projects.
The Idea Catalog
When enrolled as a student at DTU you can access the DTU student project idea database which is found on the DTU internal intranet, Portalen. The facility contains ideas from all DTU institutes, but is searchable in respect to project type, institutes and supervisors. This may be a good starting point before you contact potential supervisors to discuss possible project ideas.
Guest Students
A few guest students can make their MSc thesis project at DTU Environment. To give an idea of subjects of MSc thesis projects here is a list of titles for recent student projects finalized at DTU Environment. Try to visit our Research page on the homepage to identify a potential supervisor for your project. Remember that the supervisor has to be one of the faculty members of the institute (assistant, associate, and full professors). A list of all faculty members can be found here.
