About the research group
Contaminated Sites investigates the basic physical, chemical and biological processes that control transport and fate of pollutants in soil and aquifers at contaminated sites. Development of characterization tools, risk assessment methodologies and remediation technologies is conducted based on process understanding.
The research is based on laboratory and field studies often combined with modeling. Research is performed nationally and internationally in collaboration with universities, research institutes, agencies, industry, consulting companies and municipalities.
Coordinator: Poul L. Bjerg
