Analytical facilities in the laboratory at The Department of Evironmental Engineering

  • Determination of gasses (CO2, H2, CH4, N2, O2, N2, and N2O) by GC-TCD, microGC(TCD) and GC-FID
  • Determination of degradation products (VFA, lactate, formate, MTBE metabolites) using GC-FID and/or HPLC-IEC
  • Determination of compounds in sludge and wastewater (LAS, phthalates, nonylphenols, bisphenol A, PAH) using GC-MS and HPLC
  • Determination of organic contaminants in drinking water and ground water (phenols and phenols alike, chlorinated aliphatic compounds, MTBE and metabolites) using Purge&Trap-GC, HeadspaceGC-MS, GC-ECD and ATD-GC-ECD and FID
  • Determination of freons and their metabolites in air using GC-MS
  • Determination of metals using Flame AAS and ICP-OES. Hydride system for determination of arsenic.
  • Determination of traces of hydrogen in air using mercury oxide detector
  • Determination of anions using ion chromatography
  • Determination of nutrient using Autoanalyser and FIA and Kjeldahl equipment
  • Determination of physical properties of minerals (BET, acoustic and electrical resistivity, X-Ray analysis)
  • Scintillation counting of beta-emitters and weak gamma emitters
  • Determination of TOC(NVOC, TC, IC) in aqueous solutions and solids
  • Equipment for sampling of soil and groundwater in the field. 
  • Equipment for sampling and homogenizing of solid waste
  • Short term and long term toxicity tests on algae and crustaceans. Multisizer Coulter Counter and fluorometer.
