Affaldsbehandling. Affaldshåndtering. Forbrænding. Udvaskning af
affald. Kompostering. Deponering. Genanvendelse Thomas Højlund Christensen (THC) forsker i affaldsteknologi,
især i forhold til forbrænding, biologisk behandling, deponering og
udnyttelse af affald og restprodukter. THC er specialist i
miljøvurdering af affaldssystemer, blandt andet med udvikling af
LCA-modellen EASEWASTE (livs-cyklus-vurdering) til behandling og
genanvendelse af affald. Professor i affaldsteknologi og forskningsdirektør på Institut for Miljø & Ressourcer DTU. Civilingeniør fra DTU, PhD fra University of Washington, Seattle og Dr. Agro.(jordbundskemi)fra det tidligere KVL. Har arbejdet videnskabeligt med affald og affaldsrelaterede problemstillinger i 30 år. Specialist i miljøvurdering af affaldssystemer (bl.a. været hovedkraft bag udviklingen af LCA-modellen EASEWASTE), udvaskning fra affald og grundvandforurening fra deponier. Har endvidere arbejdet med affaldskarakterisering, forbrænding, biologiske behandling og anvendelse af affald på jord og i tekniske sammenhæng. Har samarbejdet med mange kommuner, institutioner og firmaer både nationalt og internationalt. Har udgivet flere bøger om affald. Har publiceret mere end 150 internationale tidsskriftsartikler der er citeret mere end 3500 gang. Er leder af forskerskolen 3R: Residual Resources Research. Er formand for Programkomiteen for Energi & Miljø under Det Strategiske Forskningsråd og medlem af bestyrelsen for det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram. Medlem af bestyrelsen for Dansk Kompetencecenter for Affald (DAKOFA). Medlem af Akademiet for de Tekniske Videnskaber |
