Peter Alexander Stentoft, an Environmental Engineering student at DTU, won the first prize and 30,000 DKK for his Master Thesis “Green treatment of black water” in the Green Challenge Friday June the 23rd.

The judges’s comments were:
• Easy to implement, you gain more than you loose
• A proven and tested intelligent wastewater system, easy to implement, with a short payback time and significantly reducing energy consumption
• Solid engineering work

The project was conducted as a collaboration between DTU Compute (supervisors were Associate Professor Jan Kloppenborg Møller and Professor Henrik Madsen), DTU Environment (supervisor was Professor Peter Steen Mikkelsen) and Krüger A/S (supervisor was Senior Process Engineer Thomas Munk-Nielsen). Peter Alexander Stentoft will start an industrial PhD project after summer with the same partners.

Cecile Kittel, now a PhD student at DTU Environment, won the third prize and 10,000 DKK for her Master Thesis: "Informing a hydrological model of the Ogooué with multi-mission sensing".
The supervisor at DTU Environment was Professor Peter Bauer-Gottwein.

Congratulations to both winners!
